          My M5 Disaster!!

I took Delivery of my M5 on Wednesday and its been back to Garage twice with Transmission problems and there is only 150kms on the clock. The paddle shift is working fine, but when i tried to change gear with the stick shift it will only let me change down but not up! I left the garage on wednesday night with my new car after sitting there waiting for the salesperson to find the keys and not to mention waiting for 4 hours for some twat to make the number plates for the car. I thought to myself, I have the car now things will be ok? What a disaster! It has taken any desire of owning an M5 or any other BMW again for that matter. The service and profesionalism here in Malaga ,Spain leaves alot to be desired. It has taken me one year to finally commit and order the M5 purely because of the dealer service and after the disasters I have had with my previous BMWs here in Spain (3 x X5 4.6 and a few others).
After reading so many good reports here on the board ,I ordered it and now I really regret it.

I have given them the chance to fix it ,half knowing they couldnt as they are useless idiots and now the car is back with the same problems.(as I thought)

Now today I am trying to find out my rights as to giving the car back and getting a refund.
I feel completly sick with it and dont know what to do.

If I was still in UK I would not have these problems.
Has Anyone had the same problems? or give me their views??

Well there`s always the risk of getting a faulty car when a model is so new but it seems like the lack of a good service team is making it much worse.

Hang in there, don`t get rid of the car! Maybe you could try at another dealership.

Change dealership: maybe BMW Spain have some BMW AG owned or controlled? Try a larger dealer. Write letters directly to the directors of BMW Spain. There is no more important customers than BMW M owners. You drive the BMW DNA

          Mickmoll,

As a BMW from Brazil subsidiary Marketing analyst, I strongly recommend you to look for BMW Subsidiary Located in Madrid, and let them know about your BIG problem. You should also write an e-mail directly to Deutschland, as your e-mail will be redirected to the write person as soon in BMW Spain.

          Best Regards, Eduardo
