Best Radar Detection System?

Anybody recommend any Radar Det. Systems? The last i heard was great and probably the best was the valentine one. I cant see that still being on top since 1999 when I last really checked into these things. I just want something to give me heads up on cops ahead. or behind. And I remember reading on here around last year about a radar/jammer in one. This is all new to me so if anybody has info about a good radar just let me know so i have it in time when the car gets here in Oct. Thanks

Re: Best Radar Detection System?

The V1 is the best. The directional arrows really set it apart.

Valentine One, without a doubt. Made down the street here in Cincinnati. The company was started by the same engineer that developed the first Escort radar detector.

Re: Best Radar Detection System?

I have had a V1 for 2 years and no tickets (knock on wood). I drive between 80-90mph on highways in SouthEast, and it has given me plenty of warning and kept me out of trouble. Laser is used by even the County law enforcement here, so Lidatek will be my next move when the M5 arrives. V1 is also nice because you can have it updated regularly by the manufacturer.

Someone please tell me why/how the Lidatek is better than the Blinder M40, which seems to get the best reviews.

Re: Best Radar Detection System?

Maybe not: but Lidatek have been tested numerous times (10+) by m5board.com members in their M5s. You cannot say that about the Blinder. Also Lidatek are sponsors

Re: Best Radar Detection System?

Laser jammers are not illegal in most states and not in mine (Texas). Radar jammers are illegal everywhere because the RF spectrum is controlled by the FCC.

Right, Laser jammers are only illegal in CA and a few other states. You can check on the Lidatek site. Radar jammers are illegal in most states.

Yeah--my problem is I live in CA! Here's info from their site:

The LE-30 is legal in every state except California, Utah, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia, Nebraska, and Washington, D.C.
