Has anyone heard of anyone doing this. I have a 95 3.8 touring but I was told it is impossible to get it past EPA and DOT regulators. Any info would be appreciated
Peter
check with the dot and find out what you need i know that you need to change the windshield to US specs and have all US spec lighting. if you could do this and get it in an register it then go for it. oh ya how about the smog device

HI!!! THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM WITH BRINGING THESE CARS OVER. I HAVE A '93 3.8 TOURING, ALSO, I KNOW A FEW OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE '94 TOURINGS AND MY FRIEND IS BRINGING IN A '95 TOURING. IT MAY ALREADY BE HERE. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS: HERE IS HIS NAME & NUMBER. SCOTT EPSTEIN. (404)815-9121
JUST TELL HIM THAT YOU GOT HIS NUMBER FROM ME. PAUL TAGLIERI... '93 DAYTONA VIOLET TOURING AND I HOPE HE DOESN'T MIND THAT I GAVE IT OUT. GOOD LUCK.....
Hey Paul, do you know whether your car had to be modified at all? I will call Scott today also. We are going to Germany next month and have a line on an E34 there that I would love to buy and bring home. Any info appreciated.

I have spoken with a person who has imported a number of 3.8 M5s. He said that ease of registration varies by state. California, for instance, requires that your model of vehicle match one in their directory. Since CA has no listing for a "94 M5," it is not so simple to get the car registered. Other states, however, are far easier to deal with. You may simply submit the year and model and then the VIN # to be legal. So long as they have your car on record you are cool. Before stealing plates from another car it may be wise to check the protocol of YOUR state's DMV.
Hey Guys.......
CA. is definately the hardest state to bring a car over here. I had no problem registering it in FL or NY. I also know some people that did it in GA, SC, NJ, MD, TX. They didn't have any problems either. but you definately have to check with your DMV. I didn't bother going through an import co. I just wanted to deal with 1 person which was Scott. He is an impeccable person as far as these cars go. I have to warn you, that there is a waiting list. He goes beyond the call of duty. He does things to the cars that a dealer wouldn't even think of. Good Luck........
Who is Scott?
What does it cost
for a nice ,,say,,95 M5
What about shipping $?
Are there problems w/ service,
parts,EPA/DOT?
Thanks ,
Bob
