M5 touring trunk lid

I need help here,
I can't close the lid. That is it closes, but you can open both lids with the car closed and the alarm on. Then the alarm goes off...
I can't hear a clicking sound when I lock the car.
The car is a '95 M5 touring.
Any help welcome. If anyone has the wiring diagram for the rear lid for the touring, I will be happy to get it.

I did some head scratching and looking, and I think I have a hint.
I need to know how the locking disables the two handles in the trunk panels. Is it by cutting power supply or by cutting the ground (negative lead)?. It obviously has to be one of the two, because when it worked, moving the handles-i.e. actuating the microswitches and thereby grounding the current loop- didn't actuate the electrical motors, as it does now.
