Reprogram of control unit with new remote contol for vehilcle security system
My '93 US M5 comes with a standard vehicle security system. I had to buy a new remote control unit. I have the chip from the new remote which I need to place in the Contol Unit to reprogram. Where is the control unit located? Local dealer is no help, they said bring it in and let our technians do it-this is more than a one day commitment in my area- and I always seem to get an intense attack of aggravation at my dealer-so..I'd rather tackle it myself, if I can find the bloody control unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, JT

Please let me know what you find out. Actually, I am considering buying two or the alarms (one for the 91 M5 and the other for the 87 535is) and would like to know if the remotes could be programmed to work with both cars (one button of the two buttons for each car).
