Post Door handles

I've read somewhere (wish I knew where...) that there is a series of door handles with the Motorsport logo on the E34. Is that true? If yes where can I find them? Parts numbers?
Thanks in advance, George

Yes, the embossed motorsports door handles were avaliable on all 1993 U.S. spec M5's.
Try going to a dealer and asking for them. Although I have also heard that they sold out along time ago. The say "BMW Motorsports." They were only put on the front doors.

For JonS, and every others interested,
I went to my dealer, and he found the handles under the name "outer door handles-motorsports". It seems they sell only the whole mechanism, with the lock, so I had to give the chassis number to get the right lock et al. with the key I have.
There was no warning about the parts not being available, and the parts CD is a 2000 edition. I will get some information next week, which I will give here.
BTW, mucho dinero... 210SFr per side (~130 US$)
Regards, George

I got them!
The parts number are: 8 199 757 for the left one and 8 199 758 for the right side.
They are engraved "BMW Motorsport". It is the whole mechanism, with the lock, so the chassis number (VIN) is necessary to get the right locks.
So they ARE available from BMW, it is again a case of being persistent with the parts guy.
Please guys let me know what happens when you order them.
Regards, George

I've put the right handle on tonight. It involves removing the inner door panel (a philips screwdriver and a torx bit); removing the outer part of the outer handle (a small window on the opening with a rubber plug); unscrewing the door handle itself (a lockring outside and a 10mm nut inside), and fiddling the handle out/in.
Took about 1 hour for the right side. I will try the left side tomorrow, which will have the added mirror controls and the heated lock (?) to handle.
The point is, anyone with a few tools and patience can do it.
P.S. protect the handle and the door paint with tape...
Regards, George

Mats,
The handles are not chromed.
They are black like the standard ones, engraved "BMW Motorsport" on the moving part.
I will try to post a picture here when I get hold of a digitaliser or a digital camera.
Regards, George

Warning, Warning, Will Robinson!!!! These Motorsport handles will only fit 9/91 and later production cars. Mechanical internals inside the doors were changed for MY '92 production.
