///M Label on Engine Intake Plenum

How do I refurbish the tri-color Motorsport ///M on the intake plenum of my 91 E34 S38 engine? It must have worn off when the previous owner was washing the engine compartment.

By the way what lubricant should I use on the bellcranks and pivot points of the throttle linkages?

This has been discussed on the E34 M5 mail list. Here is the URL to that group (worth the visit :

The part number for the label is:

        72 60 1 312 802

Available in the part number database.

        Cheers, Ben
