Post stainless steel brake lines for E34 M5

Planning on replacing the stock rubber brake lines with stainless steels. There appears to be two kinds of stainless steel brake lines: one is a Teflon hose with stainless steel braided shielding and the other one is Kevlar hose with the same stainless steel shielding. Pricing wise they are about the same depending on whether or not they are US DOT approved. Does anybody know which one is a better product for every day street use with occational sport driving school?

        This is a hot question,
I know that there will be some debate here, but my amateur's advice is: don't.
        The reasons are the following:
        - 99% of the time, the rubber lines are more than adequate. I never felt any fade, or lenghtening of the pedal travel on my cars (a 911 Carrera 1976, a 911 Turbo 83, the M5), and I drive really HARD in the Alps, here in Switzerland. The brakes get plenty of use.
        - More important is the maintenance problem. You can never see the actual tube under the steel liner. Discerning a small leak from whatever the road throws at the lines is difficult. So a leak or a broken line can be missed.
        - These stainless lines are a 1 or 2-year proposition. I don't feel like changing the lines every year. I usually stick to a 3 or 4 year interval.
        - this is more anecdotal, but my porsche mechanic has a 800-Hp (that's not a typo) 935 for autocrosses and climbs. In 10 years of racing it, he had one line fail, a stainless line. Now he has standard issue rubber lines on all his racing cars, NEVER a problem. And he wins, more often than not.
I know the subject is a potential battlefield, so these are only my opinions. I welcome any other. The end decision is a personal choice.
        Regards, George
