hi everybody this week end in italia my car was crashed by a girl wich was passing with the red light in a incross she bumped me and frowed me on signalisation pannel I saw all my life and I've passed 3 days in hospital:crying:
now I have to see if I can repair my baby or if I have to change it th picture af the crash were on all newspaper here.

Got my 2003 car delivered 3 weeks a go. Only did 6000 kms since then.

Here in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) you have to order the 'Individual Heritage Nappa Leather' to get a caramel interior. Furthermore it gots:

Double glass side windows
Sunroof (glass)
Individual Color
GSM bmw
White indicators

For insurance I needed a class 5 alarm system. It has a separate phone and GPS system. If the alarm goes off the coordinates of the car are sms'ed to the insurance company and a 'rescue' team is being sent within 10 minutes. Out of 2000 cars currently equipped with the system they have been succesful 100% in getting the cars back within 2 hours. I believe they have had 30 'rescue' missions.

Cool side effect: you can log in to their application through the web and lookup your can on a map!

Enjoy your cars! Happy to own one now.

yeah it's a lot of miles... I bought through a broker (Steve Diamond, www.eurobuyers.com -- great experience) and as a result took delivery in Salem, OR, though I live in the Bay Area. Driving down the Oregon/CA coast is a perfect way to break it in...

Took my lovely for a run down the M25/M20 to Leeds Castle last weekend - purred like a baby - had to wade through the admirers to get back into the car at the end of the day though:grrrrr:
-all the fingerprints and nose marks on the glass:crying:
Never went faster than 140kph but she was begging me to give her more juice - refrained however. Filled up for the first time at a local Shell garage (Optimax of course). While filling, a voice calls out - nice car - look round and there is a Le Mans blue M5 right beside mine having a drink - seems that fellow M5er's attract each other - M5's here are still a rare occurrence - only other one I have seen on the road was a fellow CB while I was waiting for delivery of mine and it just blew past me with that lovely growl and I knew I would be in heaven soon. By the way the ///M badge on the plenum cover has had all the paint worn off - there seems to be little in the way of tolerance between the badge and the underside of the bonnet what with the heat insulation and all - what's the spacing like with Yoda?

Good Call. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't of seen it with my own eyes. Your right. I just checked and it looked like there was grease on the badge. It was a black scuff mark. The black came off but you can see something is rubbing.

I feel some replacement M badges will be in order.:cheers:

Hey everybody, I'm fairly new here and I own 2001 LeMans Blue M5 with M Audio and Caramel Leather.

Was cruising in brooklyn, ny the other day and saw another 2001 LeMans Blue M5 with black leather and cloth M inserts. It was sittin in someone's driveway. It looked like it was just washed and waxed and had 75-80% tint on all windows except the front, chromed :eek: stock rims and chrome exhaust tips. That Beast looked like it belong to a mafia boss :eek:

If whoever owns that monster is on this board..... **** you have a scary car!

My first post, though I have been reading this even prior to buying my 2000 M5 from someone else on this board almost 2 years ago. I was prompted to (finally) break my silence because I simply wanted to say that this is a FANTASTIC board. The amount of information I have obtained from perusing the content off and on is amazing.

Well done all of you diehard posters. I am delighted to "formally" become a member.

As far as the car goes - there is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. I've been told that mine is a relatively rare M5 - anthracite with the sport Silverstone interior (apparently not too common). I bought the car with ~7000 miles on it, and it now has about 15000, and (s)he brings a smile to my face every weekend. What a car!

Thank you all for making my reading of the site enjoyable and keep up the great work Gustav et al. One of these days I have to go meet M5Manny et al at the NJ events.

Mine is a Certified, Pre-owned that I was lucky enough to stumble upon as I was shopping for a 530i. The original owner preferred to drive his Lincoln Towne Car and only put 12,000 miles on the M5 in two years!:)
Also, the car had been sold a day or so before I got to the dealership, but the buyer walked away (looking for a better price, I guess.) I swooped in and the M is now mine! hiha
