Exclamation Auto Motor Sport Road-Test

Auto Motor Sport tested the new M5. It was published this morning. For German-speakers, I could scan & upload it, if you want. The main points were:

- no negative points, except consumption
- the best overall performance package ever
- perfect engine, very low noise in the interior, loud and aggressive from outside
- perfect transmisson, the fastest gearbox ever seen
- extremely fast accelerating, even more extreme at 180+ (km/h)
- extreme brake-force, even at many highspeed-stops, no fading
- consumtion was about 15 l/100km

Now, Its Here:

Re: Auto Motor Sport Road-Test

I can't belive people who own a car with an large engine and complains about fuelconsumption, maybe because it's annoying to stop and refuel so often, but there can't be another reason for it.

you are absolutely right. if the car needs 15l that is a lot, but 500hp and 1850kg is a lot too. and if you compare it to a golf (7-8l, 1250kg and 100hp) 15l is not much.

but why does the car only have a 70 litre tank? i don't see the reason for it. it is the same with the porsche turbo, which has a tiny 64 litre tank. unbelievable...

Weight my friend, they simply reason that refueling a little more often is a small price to save weight.

EDIT: 1850 kg Is it really THAT heavy ?!?

no fading, contradicts the other test! maybe the other test car had been given a rough old time or they have different defintion of fade ....lol
