Thanks for posting.
No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to like the styling, especially from the angle of the photo above. It just doesn't excite me.
Cheers, Daniel.

507hp excites me...
styling is a bit controversial, but i think it looks better and more aggressive than the standard version.

At some point HP does not matter, as the roads are staying the same. Handling is more important to me, and the e39 M5 provides very close to the maximal usable street performance/handling.
Although the styling of the M5 is a vast improvement over the standard e60, it does very little to peak my interest. The interior is especially disappointing, with the non-driver-oriented dashboard.
Moreover, the e60 M5 is so expensive, that it seems crazy to spend that kind of money for something that is not an exotic like a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Just think about it, at $110,000 in the UK for an e60 M5, you could get so many amazing cars instead that would be more fun to drive. In my opinion, the ultimate garage is an e39 M5 plus an off-the-wall performance machine such as a Lotus Elise, Catherham Super 7, Lotus 340R, etc.
For me the e39 M5 is the pinacle, and although the e60 M5 will surely be a blast to drive, for me it just doesn't warrant the price, when one can drive an e39 M5 for a third of the cost.
Just my opinion.
Cheers, Daniel.

Agreed if the E60 M5 can go around the Ring over 28 secs faster than the E39 M5 then it must be doing something right!!!

99.99% of the owners will not be driving at the 'ring 99.99% of the time.
