M5 home...

Well it was a great trip back from NC, only got pulled over once

Mainly for the trooper to look at my troop permit..he was actually nice and said he would put the word out on the Blue M5 that all is kosher so I wouldn't get stopped again...he said moving at the speed of light will get me pulled again so set the cruise.

The car is amazing. Looks like it rolled off of the showroom, not a mark or even a nick anywhere in the Lemans Blue finish. (I know pics coming....)

There is a dead bug..looks like a mosquito in the dash in between the instrument cluster that needs to be removed...odd I know. How difficult is it to get in there? 3 screws on the top? Looks like it is right behind the first peice of plastic.

Anyway, everything is well and mods will be coming shortly...small ones...like the armrest..man does that thing hurt. I looked on the website about the new armrest and am unsure of the leather type to match...Montana?? Black is all I can tell would it say on the window sticker?

I think I would like to do the non-smoker package and gain some more storage...never use that anyway.

Is there a template for the license plate bracket on the front. Mine came with a painted bracket and as much as it pains tme to drill the front bumper the less attention the better.

There is an armrest in "kit" form with the storage tray etc included. You do not want montana leather, that has more of a grain to it than what is in the M5. Check out www.bmwtips.com for the part numbers for that and the non-smoker stuff.

Congrats! Sounds like a great beast. As for the front plate bracket, I would ask your local BMW dealer, as they install these things all day long.

Cheers.

Re: M5 home...

Jeff,

I was just thinking about you earlier today -- glad you got the car, and it was as represented (bug not withstanding )! Sounds like it is in outstanding condition, and yes we're waiting on pics.

Re: M5 home...

Congrats on your new car. Glad it turned out to be what you were expecting, mosquito notwithstanding. If ever in the Richmond area, look me up.
