canyon and mountain pass runner

First off, i dont want a track car. I just want a more sure footed car for spirited driving in the canyons and mountains, thats where I have my fun. I dont care to be better than an M3 or vette or anything like that. My pleasure is derived alone with my car.

I like the handling of the M5 but I know its lacking in a few areas.

I'd like your input on what I'm thinking about doing here. I would like to progress in stages, so I can feel the changes I make. Thats just for my curiosity.

I was thinking of first getting a UUC short shifter and the tranny mounts, a dinan adjustable sway bar, and their adjustable camber plates for -1 degree of camber, a set of stainless brake lines, and upgraded pads and fluid. That would be my stage one. The idea being to get more precise feeling shifts, reduce understeer a bit and get some better bite out of the tires, and reduce fade in the brakes a tad. I dont know , this might be enough. I think this would afford some measure of improvement of the driving experience from what I have read here. What do you think?

Also, can anyone tell me if it is possible to do only front suspension work without getting into the rear to improve handling a bit more? Can a system be developed than better matches the rear than the factories? I am loathe to allow someone to take apart my car to the extent necessary to do work in the rear.
