For your enjoyment - power brake
I just did a photoshoot with MAX Power last week and the editor wanted me to power brake for some shots. Unfortunately I did not know how as I've never tried before on a stick so I had my buddy lee do it. Here are two videos. The first one I fell into a ditch while filming. That's why I said oh **** ! :-)
Enjoy - The DINAN Exhaust does sound nice :-)
Greg, you saw me and Lee on that road last Friday. Lee was following you behind in his supercharged VR6 (it's very fast)

Yep - I thought that was you. I was fun to run with your friend. I had no trouble outpulling him, but given the time of day and the speeds attainable on that road I let sanity take the better part of the equation - we didn't get to find out who was better in the turns. I don't doubt that is a quick car, though.
Cheers -
p.s. - great videos. My thoughts:
1) Your poor car!
2) better yours than mine
3) I think you scared the **** out of that runner!

Cool!
So, how do you perform a "power brake"?

Nice vids!
Just like how he did it:
Inch up a bit, while continuing to give gas, hold brakes hard and give alot of gas.
The trick is to move a bit so the tires break free from a stand still. Once loose, with gas they will run free. Of course shredding your tires
Important: dsc off.

It can be tricky with a manual transmission but the idea is to give it gas and brake at the same time so it basically sits still and cooks the back tires. I have done it by...left foot clutch, right foot brake and gas. Enough gas to keep the car from stalling as you let out on the clutch and enough brake to hold the car still. After you get the clutch out you can then put your left foot on the brake and concentrate your right foot on the gas....It takes some coordination and getting used to. I suspect there are other ways too.
BTW, Great video..thanks

Are those rear brake discs getting really hot while doing power braking or does the car "know" what you are trying to do and using only front brakes?

Dan - YEP. Go there and checkout all the tire marks :-)
What have you been up too. What's the latest. Are you going to the Hilsborough concourse?

So what's the logic behind power braking? Why are you doing it?

The only reason to do this kind of stuff is to look cool.... Of course "cool" is in the eye of the beholder. (I love stunt driving, and study at the Bobby Ore school.)
Stunt driving destroys tires like nothing you've ever seen before, and it is not kind to the cars, either.
