I just noticed that the 1200 mile service and the first maintenance service were not documented with a dealer stamp in my booklet. Anyone had similar experience? Maybe it is not required anymore. I have a call in to my service advisor.

I believe you can special request the stamp if you like to have it for your documentation. Even if it's gonna be on a separate sheet of paper that will be attached to the service book, I think it's worth it to have for your record.

If the service department gives a hassle about that, at least you can keep the invoice/receipt as prove that you have performed the 1,200 service as the brake in period.

I was going to do the same before for my 996 but the service advisor told me that the engine was already broken in at the manufacture before they released the vehicle. My first oil change will be at 15,000 miles (just because they use synthetics, can you believe that?
