fastest M5 In South Africa

The Johannesburg based sister company to our very own German Auto Logic, have developed probably the fastest road going BMW M5 in the country!

Clocked ar 327 km/h using GPS, this brutal tar ripping machine is just 60 km short of the South African land speed record.

Owned by Tony Viana the V8 develops 362 KW of power from its 5Lt engine that has been modified with a ceramic coated airbox, ram feed airducts, cams, branches, pipes and throttle bodies.

Viana initially approached ChipLogic ( German Auto Logic's sister company) because he felt that his factory standard M5 was just not fast enough.

The company then set about importing all the components that go into the famous Nowack M5 from Germany.

The point to note about the Nowack, is that it is the fastest noramlly aspirated saloon in the world - ie. no supercharging or turbocharging!

Over and above that, ChipLogic then remapped his entire engine management system for the car to cope with the higher demands of all the hardware.

The result of the modification is a whopping 327 km/h that will easily overtake a flast footed Porsche 911 Turbo on the Autobahn, running on 93 leaded.

For the technically minded, the car develops 584 Nm at 4300 - 6000 rpm. Standard suspension, six speed manual gearbox. fficeffice" />>>

· Tyres - Front : 225/40/18 >>

· Tyres - Rear : 265/35/18

And the cost of owning South Africa's fastest road going M5? - Well the conversion alone set Viana back in the region of R160000
