Is this acceptable

Hello all.
My dad brought his M5 to the dealership. The drivers seat was blowing fuses and ended up needing a new wiring harness. They took the car for a 30 mile drive to make shure the seat was ok To me this is B.S. taking a car for a 30 mile ride to test a new wiring harness Is there anyway to find detailed information or any information about what went on those 30miles?

Also if the car was beaten on and I can get the information from the cars computer. What do I do? Do i contact BMWNA? If so what should I say.

Thank you in advance,
Alex

Re: Is this acceptable

That is a little odd. I dont see how driving has any relevance to the seat. I would say turning the car on and off would be ok, but a 30 mile drive? Contact the manager there, and then the owner of the dealer, and then BMW NA. Check the ECU for any recent over rev codes, but other than that I dont think any abuse will be apparent unless they really thrashed the thing.

Re: Is this acceptable

Yea tomorrow we are going to contact the manager and get an answer. I want to see a readout on what went on those 30 miles and I believe that they can get the info off the cars computer.

I hope for the best for my M. but somethings not right about 30 miles

Re: Is this acceptable

Talk to the Service Manager first. See what they can find out first. Maybe he would be inclined to give you some accessories or something.

How was the milage determined?
