Ok, I'll bite. What is the windscreen in the back from? It is only a popup screen, or is that the rear glass? If it is just a popup, why the defroster (I wouldn't ride around with the top down and it that cold!). If it is the rear glass, wonder how they got it to slip out of the top?

its the rear glass from the "top". this allows it to be up when the top is down- I presume to help deflect wind from the rear passengers- since they have also shown a more traditional windscreen. the traditional one makes it impossible for rear passengers though. its definately a cool feature.

The side view is not the best for the convertable, but the 1/4 panel views look great! Hopefully an M6 cabrio is in the works, and that some of the body works gets beefed up. Cool idea with the windscreen, but leave it to BMW to come up with a complex and technologically advanced (although cool) solution to a simple problem. Great pics

Hmm - not a big fan. I think I'd prefer my M3 cab for fun in the sun! Though the rear window is a great feature - very innovative.

I have it a little backwards about the rear window. it is able to go down with the top up to provide better through cabin ventilation. It apparently can also go up with the top down- maybe it does help act as a deflector....

as to the look of the cabrio- at first I thought the car really needs its roofline to look good, but I now think I really like the cabrio.

That is pretty cool with the rear glass.

I actually like the cabrio better than than the coupe.

Sorry - No good

Too bad. In my opinion, the convertible just doesn't look as good as the hard-top. Disappointing. I think most convertibles look better with the top down. Not this one.

Does the cab styling seem to pronounce the "coffin" styling of rear of the new 6? It seems that the coupe hides this better. I wonder if how they styled the rear of the E60 would have worked better?

Regard,

Terk.

Looks better than the6-series coupe although I think the E46 Covertible is much nice looking.
