Saw the 645i in real life.

...and it was nicer than on the pictures but not nice . Saw it at BMW stand at the Stockholm Open tennis championship. Also the X3 which I feel a little ho-hum about since I dont really like SUVs. The X5 4,8iS would be something tough but they have fundamental flaws compared to a standard car in terms of weight and center of gravity in my view.

I am however not sold on the exteriour design. I think however the interiour looks OK, this particular model had some champagne like coloured interiour with nice seats. Also the rear bucketlike seats looks nice and reminds me about the old 6-series. Probably as small too The steering wheel is think and nice to hold. Interiour buttons resembles the 7 series but I thought the inner doorsides were much more stylish that the 5 series Also the quality didnt feel as an E34 M5 with low milaege for example. The plastic felt weird and even weirder in the X3 (you can see I push a button in the video that didnt feel good at all)

I opened up the trunk to figure out how it would look without the Bangle butt. See that on movie 7.

I made some short films from my Palm and they are downloadable below.

Also I overheard that one BMW employee said he had spoke to a boardmember of BMW about the 7-series and the boardmember said they were stressed by Mercedes S-class launch and launched the 7-series too fast with too many electrical gremlings as a result. Hope it wont happen again.

All in all I liked the dark blue E60 5-series (530i) sooo much better than the 6-series when they were next to each other and good is that isn't it (its after all an M5 site ). It makes you wonder also after the design "adventure" of the 7-series why BMW would like to take a risk once again, now on the 6-series with its radical design. Very fortunate that the 5-series got a small redesign so it looks less than the 7-series. You can't say that about the 6-series...

its just a matter of taste,i dislike the new 5 a lot.I have seen 3, 2 in silver and 1 in grey and they seem to highlight the worst aspects of the car.To me it looks like a small 7.The other thing i noticed that was a particular concern is the shut lines are awful on them,it makes the car look really disjointed,is this the way BMW are going ? Similar to MErcedes in reducing the quality ?

Thanks for the videos Gustav.

I'm beginning to like the 6 series the more I see it. Yes the design is challenging but it is refreshingly new. And I suppose will we just have to get used to those now boot lids!

Man, I love the new 6. Seriously, I think it looks great. I liked it the first time I saw it, and I like it more and more each successive time. Bring on the M6!

Would Black be the way to go with the E60 M5?

I think yes, black is the best color for it. Because it makes it look sinister and also because it hides the shut lines of the trunk. one of the big failings of the 6, in my opinion of course, is the way the trunk looks tacked on when viewed from the side. Just to add a little positive balance to my comments, I love the "flame surfacing" on the hood and how the lights play into it.

actually- theres a problem if you literally follow the lines without the trunk lid: the design then becomes very unbalanced, favoring the long front.

Off topic question for you guys in... Germany specifically. How much snow do you guys get? What is a "big" snowstorm?
