I'm thinking about that mod....I've grown very used to the HUD in my Corvette....It becomes like second nature very quickly, and in an effortless cruiser like the M5, it would be very useful!

Just hope it's as legible as the OEM Corvette piece.

saw this equipped in a early 90s Nissan Blue Bird before (speed display only). I think it's a bit unnecessary as the novelty quickly wears off. my 2 cents.

Totally agree.

I had a Pontiac Grand Prix with the Heads Up Display as a loaner once and did'nt care for it. Became a novelty thing, played with the HUD and then shut the sucker off.

Regards,

T.

its nice on cars that already have it built in the windshield, if you get after market HUD you have to stick a reflector on you windshield like 3"x6" i think that sucks.

also my 2 cents

HUD

Liked it when I was a pilot, but I now 'fly' closer to the ground and spend all of my cross check looking outside for those who don't understand the 'traffic pattern'. Also agree with the others that the add on concept just looks cheap

The current gen M3s and M5s have one of the coolest dashes ever. Why would anyone want to take their eyes off the tach when it speeds toward the red line?

To watch the road, maybe?

Seriously, it is a very useful feature, especially in a competitive environment. But I'd have to see an aftermarket piece in person...it's got to be unobtrusive to consider putting one on that beautiful dash!

That piece looks cheap. If I were modifying the M5 dash with an HUD, I would want nothing but the best. Maybe there are some European companies that make something equivalent for BMW and MB.

I would be in for a group buy on an HUD, but only a fully integrated high-quality solution.

Cheers.
