WRC Rally Sweden

Member keesh, me and some friends went to Hagfors in Sweden to see some of the Swedish Rally.

Going there in an appropriate 4WD rally car.

Long snowy roads on the way there.

Here is Tmmi Mäkinen checking the tyres.

Thanks for the pics. That was a great day. I was so mad that I forgot to bring my camara to the stages. But your pics help a lot. BTW: Sorry that we don't have a vid of Kees putting the WRX into the snow bank

You got me there, I guess.

But at least I did it in front of a bigger audience

Even got applause for it

And I'm back this Easter in (hopefully) a rent-a-
Cooper

Will be harder to roll, hopefully...............

Was kinda below the beltline that one, wasnt it...?

We'll just have to match up the WRX against the Cooper at Easter and see who is faster... (or more foolish)

It's nothing I can't handle

But you're on for the race this Easter. I'll only need to source a turbo and supercharger to try to keep up on the straights......

Or maybe somebody would lend me an M car? Surely somebody would be that stu...... eeerrrr.... nice?

Yes it was fun but COLD

The newt time we should do some more background checks on the sections and see were the jumps are. This time we just stumbled into these stretches and hadsome luck getting a good spot. It was an interesting experience seeing it in reality!

One fun thing is that the drivers drove full speed between the special stages on normal roads. Those guys reallly floored it Although I saw an article where one of the rally cars crashed with one civilian car head on which wasnt soo good...

From Mitsubishis site:

With temperatures registered at minus 19 during today’s shakedown in Hagfors, 85 kilometres from Karlstad, the contenders look set for one of the coldest events in 15 years and a classic winter rally which is also one of the fastest and most spectacular in the calendar.
