Anyone know if there are any cosmetic or functional changes planned?

1. 4.4 will bump up to 325HP, like the current 7-series.

2. New front grill and bumper fascia.

3. Headlights front and rear change (Bi-zenon/more LED usage like 7).

4. Sirius satellite option.

5. More optional features included in the standard car price.

6. Adaptive headlight option.

7. 6-disc cd changer in dash.

8. New larger standard and optional wheels.

9. Ventilated seat option possible.

10. New steering wheel.

It may look like this Photoshop version:

Wow - that looks sharp - I assume as a 2004 model - it'll be available this Fall? I'm in the market for an X5 and was wondering what the 2004 looked like - looks like I'm waiting a few months.

I'd be interested if anyone had a rear shot of the face-lift...

Based on what I see here, it's definitely worth the wait. The balloon note on our RX300 is up in August. I'll have to figure out how to bridge the gap between August and whenever the 04's are available.

BTW,
What is the Adaptive headlight option all about???

What's going on, Nupe! The adaptive headlights actually turn in direction with the steering wheel. With the new adaptive tailights coming with it we will soon be driving german Volvos. Tell Dewey i'm looking forward to spankin' that *** on the golf course in the Big D in March. BTW, I am getting rid of my beast for a SMG M3 in April. Need more of a car for the track, and I don't think the M5 is worth $15k more than the M3. Recessionary economy and all...

Also 4.6is engine will be upgraded to 4.8L pumping out approx. 370-380 hp.
Upgraded 3.0L diesel engine, producing 205 hp as on 330cd instead of 185 hp of the current X5 engine.

The X5 face lift looks great. Always thought BMW did a great job on the X5 and nice to see the new model will still be a looker. My Jeep goes back this November so timing is perfect. I had read in another post that the 4.6 was history, was I dreaming?

I disagree

Wow, that doctored picture of the '04 X5 is hideous. Looks too much like the 7. It's a good thing I order my X5 a month ago!

POW!

Has anyone seen any non-PS pics of the facelifted X5? I don't seem to see any in this forum and figured they'd be here by now...
