When did you fall in love with BMW ///Mobiles?

I was just wondering and this question popped in my mind. When did i first love the M ? I was thinking and thinking...Scratching my head...pulling a couple of hair out ! This is one of those tricky ones i guess... I remember back when i was kid and seeing those beautiful e30 M3's in Germany. They were something different. I used to travel with my family every year to Germany and guess where we lived? Not far from a BMW dealer. What luck huh ?

I went and checked out their cars and of course the MMMMMMM3. Oh i fell in love with that car and was dying to get one. But of course i was too young and didn't have a licence

I finally got my hands on a M3 when i bought a 98' M3. It was nice and had plenty of power and turned heads but i didn't like the low ratio gearbox it had to make up for the loss of power of the Euro model. So in other words i didnt like it that much. Now its a totally different story with the M5. I love this car and am planning on keep it for a couple of more years. Its funny because my dad told me to sell it this summer when im done with my Masters and buy a new car when i go back to Bahrian. I refused and told him that i loved my M5 and its color combination. He said ok he would buy me a brand new M5 fully loaded in the same color combo. I still refused! He goes "i have never seen anyone refuse to replace his old car with a new one that is exactly the same in any every shape, color and form" !!!!!!! He doesn't know the full story does he ?

To answer the question....I would say the E30 M3..When did you fall in love with ///Mcars?

My first M love was the M635CSi. It was renewed when my uncle bought a E34 M5 Touring.

Cheers,
/Johan

I would have to say that the first bimmer I fell in love with was the E36 M3 when it came out. Wow. Then, in 98 when I purchased an E36 M3/4 I found out why. What a great all around car that was. Yes, it had its qwirks. Yes, BMW service leaves much to be desired. But none of that kept me from coming back. Actually, I think a P Car experience brought me back. LOL!

First fell in love with the E36 M3... Then switched when the E39 M5 came out. But I also find the E46 M3 very attractive... But not as much as the E39 of course. The E39 M5 has my heart!

Remembering when looking at my dad's BMW brochure when he shouldoorder his new BMW E28 518i

I noticed that the 5 series didn't have the turn signals along the 45 degree sharkfront as the 6 and 7 series had. I wanted that he should choose a 6 series. Hehe, no he chosed a 518i

I was 9 then. Then I had worked two summers at BMW and I remembering preparing the 3,6 litre E34 M5. Alot of 525i back then.

That's how it started. And this is how it developed

Cheers,
/Johan

I first fell head-over-heels in love with ///M cars when I read about the 400 bhp, 6-speed manual 4-door E39 M5 that could blow the doors off a 911 Carrera. Up till then, I was not impressed with BMW or ///M cars because the U.S. E36 M3 was not spectacular in terms of performance. Since the E39 M5, I have learned to love the rest of the illustrious ///M family in their various sizes and displacements.

well, I always admired BMW for its "no-nonsense" approach to exterior and interior design and also to nearly everything else too. They didnt need 4 wheel steering because the suspension was already right. then BMW M took these things to a new level. Id say it was from driving the E36 M3 daily. I just felt like it was a natural extension of myself. Every BMW I have driven has been a pleasure to drive in one way or another and they all have a personality trait I would call "heart".

I'm kinda like Maverick.....I'd never really paid attention to BMW, but a little over a year ago I saw an E39 M5 and thought it looked incredible. A couple of months later a friend bought a Z06 and I felt the "need for speed" bug again, but it's kind of hard to fit the wife and 2 kids in a vette. Then I remembered the sharp looking BMW. When I finally remembered the model I did some checking on it (that's when I found this board) and realized that was the car for me, 4 doors, looks great, runs like a stripped as* ape.........have been in love since

I fell in love with the "M" breed when I first visited this site. It then got me interested in the other "M" models available but it all started here....
