Looking to get a X5, and was wondering if someone has any rumours or solid info on when a facelift on the X5 is likely to come? Don't want to get a X5 and have it 1 year and then the facelift comes out.

There was talk about it in the Roundel. But the changes were nothing really noticable. Wider grill and bigger air vent on the bumper.

Any idea when these changes are due? Angeleyes? Are they coming to MY 2004 or even later. My guess is that we'll see a brand new X5 in 2007 or 2008, so a facelift in 2005 seems likely.

According to Autocar magazine, the new look will have a modified grille (kidneys), re-profiled bumpers, additional air ducts, and new headlamps (maybe the so called angel eyes of the 5-series).

Spoke to my dealer two days ago and he said that the facelift is coming this fall. There are some exterior changes, but he said nothing major. My guess is that it will definitely get clear headlights with angeleys like on the current 5 and 7. Some other changes like mentioned above is like aswell. The taillights will also get a new look.

More interresting is that the V8 will be the 4,5 like in the 7 with 333 hp isntead og 286 today and that the 4,6is will be 4,8 is with 370-380hp. While they are at it, why not put the 400 hp M5 engine in it?

He also said he had seen and driven the new E60 5-series on an oval track. He said it will be an amazing car and that BMW will be #1 again. He also said it look very good and better than the 7. But he's a BMW dealer so what can he say?

He also said that the new M5 is coming out in 2005 with a V10 and 540 hp!

The X3 will be available in january.

Take it for what's it's worth!

I would like to see a little more storage room behind the second seat. With two kids there really isn't alot of room for the extra gear.

there will be a longwheelbase version when they do the next version of the X5- this change does not include dimensions.
