Converting a Euro M3 tu US Standard

My sister moved to CA 4 years ago and now she´s thinking about bringing a ´94 M3 E36 from Germany.
Does anyone know, how much it will cost to convert the car to US standard?
Are there any dealers in the San Diego Area that can help her with this project?
Thanx for your help

Hey schmitters. I thinks it will be a expensive projetc to do. Better selling the car in Europe and buy a new one in the US:

From the research that I have done on this very subject ... The average cost ... the "Minimum" average cost to import a fairly new (Less than 15 years old) european car and convert that car US and DOT standards is roughly $10-$12,000 PLUS the cost of the actual shipping of the car and customs or duty fees.

Here is one of many websites that you may want to read very carefully. It is always better to import a Euro car that is over 25 years old. That way you can eliminate a lot of the DOT and emissions requirements.
