What is the best exhaust system for the 996TT

Do any of you guys know if the techart exhaust systems are any good? I hear some of you talk about the tubi and evo, whats the evo exhaust by the way? I have no idea about these exhaust system but can any of you suggest me a few please. What are the current good exhaust systems for the 996TT and how much hp do they add. Also does anyone have an exhaust system from these companies? I am confused...any help would be appreciated

Most folks agree that the best system is the one offered by Alois Ruf. I don't have an exhaust yet, but those on my short list are:
  • Ruf (~$5500)
  • Tubi (~$5000)
  • Evo (~$3500)
  • Fabspeed (~$3500)

For more about Evo, go to www.evoms.com. I think these guys are the best "bang for the buck" tuner right now for getting reliable big power (think 550hp) without spending obscene amounts of money (like you would with Gemballa, Ruf, Techart, etc.)

Turbo Freak,

You won't be disappointed by either teh evo or tubi, they make excellent exhausts. Firstly Tubi makes exhaust for Ferrari, and from what I have heard how nice the sound is.

And I own an evom exhaust, love it!! These guys make good stuff. Believe it or not, you won't be disappointed by either of them.

Rev your car up to 5000 rpm with those exhausts in those indoor garage, and all those cars alarms just go off!!

No problem.. you would love both of them

There is a black 996tt going around Vancouver with a Fabspeed exhaust, I was able to talk to him at a light. VERY loud and very nice sound that I wouldn't hesitate to have on my 996tt (if I had one of course )

So the fabspeed gets my stamp of approval!

TurboFreak....

I have to open my big mouth ....

First...I wouldn't buy anything from Gemballa....although i love the stuff (figure wise and design wise) that come from the shop....the quality is NOTHING like Techart.

Second...Ask harry what he thinks about the TECHART exhaust (of course it was attached to a supercharger!)

Third...I really ...really recommend B&B Exhuasts in the US.... they are very good about accomadating any special needs and warrantying their work....The company started out designing reliable...free flow exhaust for race-track run porsches...so they have alot fo experience doing so. But be prepared for a little DEEPNESS to the exhaust note.

Fourth...still my most favorite porsche tuner ....RUF (want an R Turbo)...reliable and $$$$$$

Fifth...unlike MWM and others...I dont recommend "designer" exhaust companies like Tubi.....

hope that helps

The best sounding non-Ferrari aftermarket exhaust I ever heard was the 996 C2 TechArt. Sounded like a slightly throaty F1 car at full throttle, yet very liveable at lower speeds. No resonance. Excellent quality. Mechanics in the know will tell you to go with TechArt and you'll be very happy with quality and sound. Loved that TechArt. Music to my ears.

I heard techart was the best too but I have never heard the exhaust on it. But if it sounds like the ferrari tubo exhaust(that sounds like an F1 car) then that would be perfect for me. But there are so many types of exhaust for the techart 996TT. there is the exhaust, sports exhaust, and racing exhaust. I want something that sounds nice and i dont know which to pick
