I was making a right into my community and she was waiting to make a left out. Yes female driver. I was LIKE WHAT!!! an M5 in my community!!!! Woooooooo TIGHT!!!!! I wanted to just stop in the middle of the road to give her thumbs up and show her my sign... but there was a car behind me... so i couldnt stop... so i continued to go very slowly admiring the M5 Front air dam, side mirrors, wheels! and then when i started passing the Back... I looked for the M5 badge... NONE... "Ok maybe they just debaged it" then looked down... 2 exhaust pipes!! Awwwwwwwww Fakie.... Oh poo... at least they didnt have the badge... Got all excited for nothing... 2 hr drive back to LA from SD and I didnt see one E39 M5... just a E34 M5 hehehe Woo hooo!

well, it wasn't exactly a fake M5 per se.... but more a modified 5 series, since it didn't have the M5 badge....

Fake M5s suck. I have seen a few of them around here. I even spoke to an owner of a fake!
On a side note, I saw a Carbon Black M3 being driven by a mega hot woman. She actually looked to be my age! She was going the opposite direction, so I couldn't turn around to talk to stalk her. Otherwise if I had enough room, I would have pulled the Ebrake and gone into pursuit!
The M3 was pretty rare because I have only ever seen one here before.
And then 5 mins later I had just picked up a friend and we saw some angel eyes coming the other way.. we both said "ooohhhhhhhhh??!!" and then as it got closer, we were like "M5 M5 M5!!!!" And the rear end confirmed it... 4 exhaust pipes. Again, this was very rare because I have only seen two M5s ever!
So all in all, it was a good M day!!

I saw the "ultimate" fake M5 in Waltham, MA this morning. It had four Supersprint exhausts pipe and aftermarket 19'' wheels, with the FULL M5 body kit, including the rear lip. Three things gave it away:
1) The Aspen Silver color of regular 5-series ( I think it was Aspen )
2) The same color as body plastic trim around the car
3) The rectangular rearview mirror inside the cabin.
Too bad I wasn't in my M5 at that time to see the reaction on his face

i forgot the exact website
but awhile back i saw a website devoted to guys who put ungly spoilers on thier cars....
i dont think ive ever laughed so hard in my life. they had everything from whalebone spoilers to fully ajustable F1 style ones. but the thing that made me laugh was the 5 series with fake m5 badge, original 5 series grill and the biggest ugliest spoiler ive ever seen in my life... i wouldnt be surprised if i actually cried i was laughing so hard
good times, good times...

In Europe, the 5-series is available with the M5 aerodynamic package straight from the factory. The package includes the black trim, modified front-spoiler, and whatever else the M5 has.

Ya I heard about that one but dont think that was it... and isnt the front air damn not the exact same as the M5? dont they use the ummm splitter one... dang it, it slipped my mind... but u know the one that looks like Atomic80s... with the horizontal line in the middle and with a little T.
heheh I'm not mad at the Fake M5... actually I shouldnt call it a Fake M5... she didnt have any M5 badges... its just a modified 5 series... But it disappointed me... I thought there was a M5 in my community... i was sooo happy till i got to the rear end.
