Whats the closest estimation on the due date for this car ? 04' as a 2005 model? Anyone ?

I would say for us people in britain that it would be around...the end of 03-begining of 04..
not too far away!

Really do not think anybody knows at this stage as it is 12 months until the 5 Series is launched. BMW obviously have to respond to the new RS6 and E55 but on the other hand they also need to make sure it is better so this will take time. With the last model it was over 3 years from the withdrawal of the E34 M5 to the intro of the E39 M5. Lets hope they don't hit the same problems this time.

I agree with JohnH. Maybe BMW will continue to offer the E39 M5 while the E60 5 series is out? Who knows, but I too think the E60 M5 won't be coming out as soon as some people are predicting.

I also don't think that BMW will release the M5 at the same time they release the E60 5 series line. They'll most likely wait about 1-2 years before releasing the M5. We'd be looking realistically at a 2005/2006 release date.
