Question about disconnecting daylight running

I would like to know how to disconnect daylight bulbs..without disconnecting the high beam? I tried to pull off the daylight running cable and it works, but the highbeam didn't work after that...

Any tips would be helpful..

You have to have the dealership turn off the daytime running lights using their portable computer instead. They'll probably do it for you for no charge since it'll take all of five minutes.

Unfortunately most dealers will charge$30-$60 for it. There never seems to be freebies from BMW.

WHAT!

You have gotta be kidding me...this should be something that the dealership will do for free! It doesn't take long at all and even a monkey could do it!

woah... I never have to pay anything to change the software settings on my car.... I think if the dealer wants to charge you, bring it somewhere else!

NEVER paid the dealer for something like this. I went back a second time because I changed my mond about my preferences. The tech took the time and showed me how the whole thingworks. Very interesting. And NO Charge. Should be a courtesy. Make friends with the local dealer.

I went to Pacific BMW in Glendale. They are very nice and cooperative.

I called some dealers...one of them is FMW, guess how much they want to charge me? $95!!!!
They said that they have to reprogram everything...*sggggghhhhh

And I called Norwood BMW, they want to charge for labor which is $45 for half an hour (program and )

AND guess what.... all of the sudden, Herb Chambers (which is the untrustable dealer I believe) will do it for free. I went there and they did it for 10 min, DONE! Im happy but also scared for some reason before they did it, but just gave it shot!

arrghh.. even if Herb Chambers gave me money to go to them, I wouldn't go!!! Lucky that you were only there for 10 minutes... but you never know what would happen to your car if you left it there longer...
