02 or an 03

Could still change my '02 to an '03 -- though it will delay the car a few months because some sod (Bgomez) has the first '03.

Is there any reason to do this given that miles driven seems to be more important to resale than year?

I don't know of any changes for 2003 other than a small yet to be announced price increase. My main reason for waiting is that I am still enjoying my M5. Also for me it was a matter of waiting just two more months. I may end up regretting my decision because I can't stop thinking about the damn thing now!

no...

I meant should I change my ORDER for the 996TT from an 02 to an 03. A three month wait to get a model year later.

At present, I have no m5's, as I sold mine.

Though to your original point, I do know people who simply get a new car every year.

Hi Deanger!

Well, I misunderstood... but a Porsche 996 Turbo is in some ways even better than an M5!

Please comment on my car (off topic and no comparison to yours!)

Bye!

And in fact - just confirmed my order. Get her in Aug/Sept.

Now if only I could decide on the seats!

I'm deciding on the seats too...

That's what i'm thinking of, I'm getting the 03 instead of 02 as well, even though there are not that many changes, but I still feel better to get the later year car.

I'm deciding whether to get the bucket seat or the sports seat. The bucket seat may not be as practical for daily driving, but it certainly matches the car with such aggressive styling.

By bucket, do you mean GT3 seats?

The 996 TT comes with two possible seats: STANDARD or SPORT.

The Standards are all leather - with all power adustment - optional power lumbar and option power heat. You can get them in regular or optional supple.

The Sport seats are more bucket in style. They are only partial power adjustment and have NEITHER memory NOR optional Lumbar. They can have optional heat - but only come in the one leather (regular)

For an extra 1.5 k you can have the plastic backs of the seats changed to wither leather OR painted to match.

Deanger........you'll love either seat. the sport seat is a little tighter than the regular seat.

if someone else will be driving ur turbo (god forbid!!!) the seat memory is nice. otherwise, how often are you really going to use the power adjustments? and i have never found a need for a lumbar adjustment in the sport seat.

i think the sport seat looks better too, but that's a personal choice. if anything i would like to get a sport seat like the factory ones in the 360................it has a recline adjustment on it, whereas the gt3 seat is fixed.

have fun picking ur options!!

I sat in a 996TT with the standard all leather seats and it is just unbelieveably soft just like the M5's. Almost the same leather grain.

I think you will love it!

luting+chen: what changes do you know of for 03. I too am getting an 03.(firtst 03 allocation at dealership)

Dean: I'm not sure what seats to get either but I still have plenty of time. I was thinking of the standard seats with power lumbar and heat. I thought the supple would be nice but I think I remember reading or hearing somewhere that the supple leather doesn't hold up as well???

Atomic80: are you sure they were standard seats and maybe not standard with the supple option? The standard seats on the 2000 996 I had did not have anywhere near as nice the seats in
