clutch issues and break in question

I have had my 996tt for about a week and it seems that when i shift from 2nd to 3rd, there is some hesitation in the gear box also, what is the breakin mileage? I've heard anywhere from 500-1000 miles

break-in miles is about 1400. Once you're past 600, start to bump the revs up a little at a time, start to use more throttle a little at a time. Just never for a LONG time - let it cool. don't explore the higher revs at full throttle, don't explore full throttle at too-low or too-high revs. Keep pushing both of these over the next several hundred miles - by 1200, you should feel free to do a 2nd gear run to redline at full throttle. But I wouldn't floor it in 5th or 6th too soon, or run full throttle through too many gears - until you're up there.

Now - what do you mean by "some hesitation in the gear box" - The synchros should allow you to shift pretty quickly when you use a firm pressure - and it should practically go in by itself with a small amount of pressure if you wait for the revs to match. Maybe if you give me more specific info I can tell you if what you're experiencing is normal or not.
