How to make an 8 out of a 6

          Hi!

I got my hands on some interesting material from BMW concerning the development of the 850 and will put it on my website in one or two weeks. Meanwhile, here is a little teaser: a picture of one of the first testbeds of E31-technology. Nice wheel arches by the way

          Hi,

Interesting ! Here is a picture of a very early Bmw V12 engine prototype. Note that the engine is into an E23, this time they didn't have to do wider wheel arches.

And this is a picture of a very early Bmw V8 engine prototype. This one is also into the E23.

The pictures are from a 1982 E23 sales brochure.

Very interesting material. Thanks for sharing.

I read somewhere that BMW Mobile Tradition have a 7-series with a V16-engine. It was a shame that the E23 745i wasn´t equipped with that 4,5 litre V12-engine. Stupid oil-crisis!!

The wide wheel arches were necessary because they had an E31 chassis underneath the body.

I have also seen an image of the V16 engine called 'Goldfish'. If someone has it, please post it. At the time back then I thought the image was a fake and didn't care about it.

So here is the promised update. It's by far not all information that I currently have but that was the easiest to put online. There is some really detailed stuff, but it will take time.

Am I mean to you or what

There are so many technical terms and some I do not even know in german. So be patient
