Service Engine Soon/ Check Brake Linings

I was wondering what does it means when i get a indicator light
Service engine soon and also check brake linings. ?
my beast has 22K miles, i was wondering if this is premature?
Is this covered under the warranty>? or is just maintanence?

          Any help will be nice

This probably means that your brake pads need to be replaced. Yes, this should be done under warranty. Have the dealer check out the "check engine" lights and they should take care of whatever the problem is.

Relative to the expense of the car, brake pads cost zilch. I would consider mintex brake pads if you drive the car hard, just my $.02, Murph

Brakes are supposed to be covered by the warranty so you shouldn't have to pay a dime. No matter what the fault is, the dealer should be able to dianose it and fix it for free. If not, then you have a bad dealer!
