If you hate the orange indicator bulbs

Having a silver car, it was beginning to irritate me seeing the orange bulbs when not indicating as I have a colleague who had replaced his orange indicator bulbs with something else.

These turned out to be a std BMW replacement - they are called "Gluehlampe" part number 07500018229. The bulbs have some rainbow coating and look slightly blue (when off) behind the lenses, but flash orange and IMHO look much better

- cost £30 for all four

I really want to try and lose as much of the orange in the front indicators as possible ... just not willing to fork up over $1k to change from orange to white

If you want your turn signal to look clear when not active but want the amber color when active try one of these methods:

Buy a can of high temp silver paint. Remove the bulb and spray the top of the bulb. Don't cover the entire glass portion, no light will transmit through the paint. Use just enough paint so the amber doesn't show in the lense when the signal is off. Just cover the top. This will eliminate the amber look when the signal is off, but, will still show amber when the signal is active.

In CA it is not legal to have clear signals, they must show amber when active.

I painted my bulbs about nine months ago and it works just fine. I'm quite sure I saw this idea on this board.

If you don't like that method, and you want clear try

part 07 50 9 063 574

My parts dealer at Long Beach gave me these bulbs about six months ago. I haven't installed them yet so I can't comment on what they look like.

The silver paint worked fine, it looks like a clear bulb but its amber when active.

Good luck,

Another alternative for those of you that don't want to mess with high heat spray paint is to buy those silvervision bulbs. I believe that fosmo.com still has that 2 for 1 special price going on for those silvervision bulbs. Be forewarned though that some of you might have to file one of the nubs off the bulbs to get it to fit your car. I did that and there's no problems at all with the bulbs being loose or not working.

se,

HAHAHAHA! goes away!!

Raising those kinds of funds will be pretty hard unless you start letting people have a drive

I think we can work on the funds necessary for the silvervision bulbs

hopefully we can do this soon!
