Pre-owned 740iL

I'm considering getting a pre-owned 1998 740iL. Has anyone owned a 7-series before, and are there any serious maintenance issues? How would you rate the overall experience? I think the price is 33k with about 45k miles. FYI, this would be my second car, but my first BMW.

You'll keep a 92' camry when getting a 98' 740? That's strange man , but whatever... you won't be dissapointed , 7-series (E38) are very nice looking , and they drive very nice too... and they really are comfortable , my friend has one and he put more than 100.000 Kms on it without any big problems... man , i know it's everyone's personal case , but why not sell the camry and try to save up some money until spring comes and then buy a sports car/roadster?

I'd most likely sell the Camry after purchasing the 740. I could get a nice roadster, or something sportier, but I've been wanting a 7 series for the past four years. This would be my daily driver, and I would also like something that can comfortably fit four people.

I misunderstood you , you said "that will be my second car" , and i understood that you'll have two... that way i see sense in all this... about the sports car i meant keep the 7 and buy a sports car

oh ok...sorry, I should've been clear.

Either way, I went ahead and traded in the Camry to help buy the 740 this past weekend

AWESOME car.
