Rear pdc
Guys I am having a problem with my rear pdc. Last time it was in for an inspection I asked bmw to have a look and see if there was a loose connection, apprently they did and found no problem. However when it stops working I give the sensors a push and it works for about a week. So can someone here give me a detailed describtion as to how the rear bumper comes off so I can check it myself with pics if poss. Unless you think it might be something else.

Rear bumper is really easy to take off. First off you will need to remove two clips on the rear fender wells facing the rear. I use wire cutters to pry the clip up and out. Next you need to open your trunk lid and frop down both of your side panels. There will i think a 13mm bolt that needs to be removed. It is silver in color and you cant miss it. Perform that for both sides. Then easily slide the bumper out it is on tracks on each side by the fender. Becareful not to overextend the pdc harness.

The connection at the back of the PDC sensor has 2 tangs that clip into the sensor, these can become loose, try taking the sensor out completely and checking the connector.

Can I take the sensor out without removing the bumper?

I think it depends on which one it is, if it is the one in the black rub strip then it will come out along with the rub strip, easy enough, I have done this using just my fingers.
Not to sure about the other ones, maybe the bumper needs to come off or perhaps you can access it from underneath/behind.
Richie.

You can access the the ones in rub strip from under the car, and these seem to be fine, but not the other 2. Sods law says it will be the 2 I can't access that are causeing the problem

He means that he doesn't know he can simply click on "Thread Tools" and select "Subscribe" - so instead he posted to the thread which sets up an automatic subscription
Don't worry, MGZ, you aren't the only one
