Will I do any damage?

Guys,

Last night I got a flat tire, luckily it happened right in front of my girlfriends house so it's sitting there right now until tomorrow morning when I can get it fixed.

Since i don't have a spare to drive it to the tire shop for them to replace my tire under road hazard; I have a spare 540 rim with no tire on it then i brought over and was going to jack up the car take off the rim and tire and place the 540 Rim (style 66 that fit) and lower the car to rest on the rim until i get it fixed and come back and switch it back on. By the way the old rim has a slight bend in it so i am not worried about scratching it up.

I want to make sure if I leave it like that for a few hours i wouldn't be damaging anything letting it sit like that?

Thanks for your input.

i dont see anything wrong with that except for the fact the the rim will be right up against the pavement.

i don't think you'll hurt the car, but the car sitting currently on the flat is not good for that tire. I came back from a vacation to find my car in the garage with a flat, pulled the wheel off, found a nail, brought it in for repair. After the repair, reinflated the tire and got a nasty sidewall bulge, separation occured probably from the car sitting on the flat.

Just got done putting it on the rim. By the way the Style 66 rims will clear the brakes by a very slight margin so you can use them for spares and winter tires.

I just didn't trust leaving it on the jack for and extended period of time while i am not there. Never know when it might fall and do a lot more damage. So i figure having it on the rim sitting still should be a better way.

Well if I am not mistaken it would just tow me to the nearest dealership correct?

I was already at my GF's house and it was safe so I didn't need it towed anywhere. Just took the rim with tire to Discount tire and had them look at it.
