What do you think about this one ? Looks great IMO, Bmw has done great job (as always, right ? ).
Notice that the windows are frameless...Yesss, that little detail shows how well the car is made !
Doesn't look nice ?!
P.S: My first car was 1972 Mini. I had lot of "adventures" on that car. One summer I went to Italy on that little car ! The gold times... I miss a lot that little car !
Had a 1966 1275cc Mini Cooper S Old English White with a Black roof which was one of the best car I ever owned and am very tempted to buy the new one. Now how do I convince the wife.

I too had a Cooper 'S' but a 67, and also a newish Rover modded car, it was a 1990 998cc Mini flame which I purchased new and ordered the following that the dealer fitted, the John Cooper conversion to the engine (stg2 head, twin 1.5 Su's plus K&N filters, janspeed exhaust etc) , it was red with a black roof, had twin tanks (genuine 'S' type), with monza fillers, rear roll cage, sump guard, 10" minilites to start with gp2 arches, koni's all round, and Hi Lo rear suspension. Later changed to 10" reverse steel 'S' wheels 4.5" with 165 Yoko's on, no arches, 4x Lucas lamps to the nose, c/r box, 1022cc engine lightened and balanced (after main bearings went capput just after running in service!) Special tuning cam (similar to kent 276), with Stg3 head, twin 1.75 Su's, made it a genuine 100mph 78 bhp at the flywheel motor, loved it to death. & it regularily made mincemeat of most cars in the lanes.
It's in Ireland by all accounts now.
We did the 1st Italian Job in it in 90, and smashed it up on the way home (3mths old!!) hence the spec change when it was rebuilt.
If the new one gives as much fun as the old, then that's fine by me.

New Cooper 'S' type will be producing around 130/135bhp, have 16" alloys (I think) and a different sports suspension set up.
However, the one to go for, I believe, will be John Cooper Garages Works 'S' type, which is to produce in excess of the factory cars (approx 155bhp), plus a higher spec.
Spec and prices tba. (then again, lets not forget the possibility of Alpina's version.)
However, if you want to get the std Cooper, but feel the need to have a bit more fun with it, Superchips, (the tuning chip people!!) have produced a chip that boosts the power of the std car to 135bhp, for around £400, plus a useful increase in torque. Plus they have produced an upgrade for the car, but what this consist of I'm not sure. (the price for all this inclusive, may put you in the price range of the 'S' type anyhow).
What colour/s are you considering?
I'm considering the Mini Cooper S as I may be in the market early next year for something interesting...alternatives are an upmarket GTi like Focus RS or Golf 4Motion. Due to leasing requirements a used BMW E36 M3 or similar may be out of the question...
...135hp would still be a bit low for a Mini Cooper S...especially with a base weight of 1100kg...I'm hoping that Alpina brings out a Mini version as well with upwards of 160hp soon...
Colour combinations: something fairly restrained, but classic. I would imagine dark blue suits the Mini best, I havent seen them in many other colours yet. Alternatively maybe British Racing Green...naturally only with white Cooper roof...

The Alpina mini will have 200 bhp Not extremely powerfull but remenber that not always the most powerfull cars are the funniest ones to drive (except in the autobahn of course)...
