Just read an interesting article which road tested some very fast Porsches, one of which broke the lap record around the Nurburgring. The two they did a road test with were the RUF R Turbo and the Gemballa GTR600. RUF is classified as a manufacturer whereas Gemballa is a tuner. The GTR600 recently set a new lap record at Nurburgring of 7mins 32.5secs which was 17 secs quicker than Walter Rohrl in the 911 GT2!! The RUF has the highest top speed of any production car available at present and is being rewadied to break the record at the Nurburgring.
