          Post V-12 M7

So what is BMW going to do to trump the M5 and get us all to trade up to a new BMW in 3 years?

A V-12 M7 is what it would take to get me to part with my M5. It's an interesting concept.

Probaly not. But, BMW is coming out with an M6 coupe in the fall of 2001. It will have the M% engine with a little more hp.

An all-new 8 Series (for North America too) would be pretty tempting.

Parkerfe - this month's Roundel suggests the new 6 series won't see market until 2003. Are you sure about the 2001 figure?

My impression of the M6, based on what little I have read, is that it is basically a coupe version of the M5 sedan; same platform, but 2 doors short of a family car. Is this correct?

As if the M5 isn't heavy enough. I am sure it would be nice and fast but I would rather have a fleet of E30 M3's for what I guess it will cost.

Steve, speaking of GT350's, I was a Ford nut in high school, specifically the GT350 and Boss 302. My friend's brothers had the Boss 302's and a friend of theirs had a GT350 that was serial number 0000000017 or something. It had been modified for roadracing pretty heavily. Can't recall his name. My friend's brother flew out to Kansas in 1980 or so to buy a very rare, low mileage grabber blue Boss 302. Some lady hit him and totalled it like 2 months after he got home.
