poll: what do you think of MB G500?

          hello guys
i've read a review of this offroader @ edmunds and it seemed quite unfavourable, so i was really interested to know actually your opinions on it.
please leave your comments on it even if they'd be based purely on car's external appearance.
          thank you.

Hey where have you´been? Haven't seen you around for a while!

The G500 is really cool, esp. now with the new S class like interiour. Although the G55 AMG is nice too

Johann and I raced a G500, search the Race Stories section!

The G55 is more expensive than the G500!

I like it. I'd rather buy a diesel version, and a less opulent equipped one. For US $72000+taxes I don't think I'd ever dare take it offroad either...

If you are considering a SUV, I bought a Landrover Discovery and I'm very satisfied with it. The only thing I miss, that the G-wagen has, is three locking diffs, but that can be installed in the LandRover as an aftermarket product. The LR is half the price and it has Active Cornering Enhancement as the new 7 series. BMW used LR as a testbed for the system that they now have a different and better version of in the new 7. If helps bodyroll a LOT. And the LR has better wheel articulation than the G-wagen. The G-wagen is of course better build than the LR, but man it is an expensive truck....

          Regards
          Carl

          hello Gustav and everyone,
i know its been some time since i've contributed anything. i was just around, sorting out my job and stuff like that.
the only thing i've heard from many people is that g class is one ugly SOB. and i mean different people.
i personally like it very much and i hope that they wont discontinue one until i can afford to buy it.
i like 400CDI version, its almost as fast as 500 from 0 to 100, consumes quite a bit less and has a truly monstrous torque.
i stayed in moscow for a couple of weeks in sept...man, i barely see 1 g class in a month here and you could see several of them in 30 mins when in the center of the city. almost all of them black with blackened out windows. i've seen a brabus V8 g class parked by the curb. that must be some car.
