My S2 is gone--
With mixed feelings, my Dinan S2 is gone. It has been a blast and lot of fun tricking it out over the years. Dinan has been fabulous to work with--awesome having them in my back yard. Great fun doing all these improvement with Mike Ottati--too. He and I had some great times at Dinan.
Justin Hersey from Houston, Texas is the new owner. Was emailed he just made it home today without a hitch. He should become a new Board member soon.
This is such a great forum and for a fabulous car. My best to you all. I will stay in touch. Next on the horizon is at a minimum a new 550i with the Sport package, or possible an E60 M5. Although I saw a new GT3 on the bay bridge the other day--phenomenal.
Enjoy my last picture with the car before I delivered it.

What a beautiful car. I can imagine the mixed feelings from selling it...actually I can't imagine parting with it! If you want something to follow the S2, I doubt you'll find the 550 worth your time. Same goes for the E60 M5. You may want to look at the four door M3 when it arrives however.
Hopefully Justin will log on soon and join the board.
Regards,
Chuck

I dunno... hard to figure letting go of a really great car on a purely discretionary basis. Good luck in your search for a replacement!
Cheers

HaHa! The replacement is a moving target. Forgot about the new M3--that is a thought. It was either run my car into the ground or sell it while it still had value--I did have 61,000 miles on the car, after all.
There is a lot of cool stuff out now--I am sure I will get something that will satisfy.

Congrats on the sale. I'll throw in another virtual tear.
Let us know what the replacement turns out to be!

If he joins up, your Houston friends down here will make sure he treats it with the proper respect it needs, and that he keeps it clean. I'll be on the lookout for it on the roads.

Mark,
Have you driven the new GT3? If you do not need 4 doors and back seats, I highly recommend it. I drove one pretty extensively along Skyline (35) and Woodside Road (84), and it was tempting enough for me to consider selling my Ruf BTR to get one.
Luckily at the end of the day, cooler heads prevailed and I am keeping my Ruf. But if you have not had the experience, drive a 997 GT3 on some mountain twisties and see if you can still resist.
Good luck with the next ride.
CP

Hi there; not to get personal; but what did you get?
And why did you shed your S2?
Are you coming to the Santana Row drive thingie in your new wheels day after tomorrow?
I'm disappointed there will be only two S2s there now that yo | | |
