MAF Air ducts Insulation VS. IATS relocation kit??

I'm new to M5's, one of the most eye catching threads to me was the IATS relocation kit, but the idea of cutting wires and drilling holes in the air box or having different point of views on the best location for the sensor made me hesitate until I saw the thread about the Insulation of the Air ducts "Greg's + M5EXTRM... but what wasn't clear to me was it an alternative solution for the heat soak other than the IATS reloc. kit? or an improvement + IATS kit?

I know that installing IATS will give more pwer and more advance of timing etc. but I want to make sure that more power is not given by under estimation of the temperature outside I don't want to run rich! on the other hand we have to admit that the air is being heated a bit while travelling to the intake through the ducts. so insulation of the ducts can do something good and reduce the heat soak of the MAF. and also we can consider the air flow in the MAF's will cool the MAF's. and if (the heat being soaked then the readings can be more realistic. just a theory!.

o guys, note that we have here an ambient Temp. of 47C in the summer which is 116F.. which makes me really concern of the heat soak matter when I drive at noon and even at night when the Temp. shoots up to 40

I'd appreciate the simple and wise replies, since I know that there are some members from the marketing side of parts, please don't promote the kit for me if the insulation works well as Greg did

coz UFmotor sport's site confired that the insulation wont help, which seemed almost wrong by good insulation.

thanks in deposit.

Mohamed.
