Installing Ultimate Pedals

Hi all,
DId a search but couldn't find any details.
I just got a set of Ultimate pedals for my beast...good quality. My issues before installing are two-fold.

1. I got the accelerator pedal with the "upper left extension for heel-toeing". I noticed that when I lay the new pedal over the old, the angles don't match up perfectly. In other words, when the base of the new pedal and the OEM are aligned, the edges of the pedal are off by almost 1/4 inch. (thus if I were to only align the edges, the base is not exactly flush with the OEM one) Am I expecting too much, or is this a slightly faulty design?

2. To install the dead pedal...how do I get the OEM one off easily? (I assume this is necessary for good fit, since the new one will not sit flush without such removal)

Any help from those of you who have been there before me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

When I installed the Ultimate dead pedal I just broke of the old one with a big screwdriver. Came off rather easily.
Regarding the acclerator Ken21 is right.

Here are mine. You can barely see that the stock pedal is visible on the upper left side so it's not a perfect match. As they said, I just lined it up with the least amount of stock pedal visible.

Thanks for the quick help guys. DId the install this morning....looks good.
Once I got the go pedal on, the slight angle issue is not a problem. I get pretty anal with my car.

Thanks again

Brian

Pretty easy to do kevin. Took about 1.5 hours tops. SInce the clutch pedal is a nylon/plastic and the accelerator is plastic, one has to simply drill a couple of holes in each before mounting the pedals. The brake pedal is metal, so drilling took a couple of minutes using a good bit.

Be advised though that if you have a big foot (I have a twelve) and are considering the "heel toe pedals", they cut into the space between the go pedal and the brake pedal (this is what it is supposed to do) so as to narrow it significantly. I am having to change the way I roll my foot to double clutch so as not to catch the accelerator whilst I brake. If I can't get used to it in a week or so, I will exchange for the stock-size accelerator pedal.

Also, the dead pedal looks great. Worth the extra bucks IMHO.
If you order the Ultimate pedals, do it by phone and make sure to ask for the discount (they used to offer it on the board)

Cheers,
Brian

Check out www.ultimatepedals.com for pricing....mine came to around 200 bucks (accelerator and clutch/brake pedals around 130...the dead pedal was around 70)

And please remember that you can get the pedals anyway you want. I opted for the "Ferrari" style with the M5 logo on all pedals including the dead pedal. A work of art IMHO.
