HUD failure

My HUD has stopped working, I checked in I-drive and it is on (all the different options are checked on). It is possible I am an idiot and there is some other menu to disable it in. I also had a situation today where I got the R-COD (Red Cog of Death) and I-drive stated transmission failure and limp mode. It stayed on for 20 seconds and then everything went back to normal. Anyone have any thoughts?

Sure you didn't inadvertently turn off the hud with the little button next to the headlight switch/dial? I've done that a few times and wondered, "where the hell did my HUD go?"

Didn't know such a switch existed, but it stopped working after I had it waxed so the car wash people probably did. I will check it out. Thanks for the help.

Thought I'd revive this topic and suggest folks use the search function. I was going around complaining about my HUD not working for a couple of days and then I checked the Board and what do you know a switch I didn't know about. Magically my HUD is fine, my ego not so much.

Lol.. It happens. One of the things I always do is read the manual. Amazing how many things I learn by reading that!

The HUD switch features one of the cryptic symbols BMW likes to use
