Advice on best tire option?

Just found a great big nail in one of my rear tyres. Ive had it plugged as a temporary measure but im looking to replace the whole set.

What do you guys recomend? Im on Continental Sportcontact 2 at the moment.

Or, are these plugs they use to repair the tyres any good for a long term solution. If so, I will leave the whole set on as they have only covered 3000 miles.

I live in the UK so rain isnt that uncommon!!

Most guys will tell you Michelin PS2. I moved to those after the Conti's died, and it turned the car from too much engine/not enough grip to a really nice balance of power and grip.

Absolutely go with PS2's. They are a terrific compound. They have great grip in the dry and are also quite impressive in the wet. I even put them on my MINI.
