Normal. Just depends on where the sun is coming from. You usually won't notice it. No worries.

Are you afraid it will leave a mark in your windscreen just like on old computer monitors and plasma's displaying the same image too long

Yeah it is expected. A small inconvenience for the friendly reminder that your about to hit triple digits.

Cleaned it many times already and nothing except dirt came off.
There is somekind of coating though for the HUD to reflect like it should.

Nothing that will come off. My guess is that it is within the glass itself and not just some coating.

title caught me off guard

OT - It's strange how the mind works but as I was skimming down the list of threads - your title jumped out at me. These questions began flashing through my mind - "did this guy have to park in the poor part of town?" "did he not notice that it was low income housing until he saw the reflections?" "did something happen to his beast?"

So now that I'm focused (hehe) - yeah, there's this one angle where the sun hits the dash just right to cause a very distractive and unsightly reflection!

The HUD uses a special laminate in the windscreen (wedge shaped - thicker at the top) along with a series of mirrors in the dash. Only thing to remember is to ensure you have the correct type of windscreen if it is ever replaced, otherwise no HUD display! You can also adjust the position of the image if you need to.

This might not be you issue, but it is also a good idea to clean the plastic lens on the top of the dash. Dashboard cleaner/protectant products on the lens can created reflections.

It is plastic, so use a gentle "plastic friendly" cleaner. I used Klear Screen, which is made for LCD displays. It also works well on the iDrive display.

Evan
PS- The reason its off is I can't see it from my seating position...
