Remote Start on M5?

Has anyone attempted to install a remote start system on the E60 M5? This would be great to climate-prep interior or warm up the engine, scare the crap out of unsuspecting lookie-loos haha! Any thougths on companies that make these systems?

Never heard of it done on an SMG car before. You might want to check out the M3 forums though, as SMG has been around longer on the SMG. If it has been done, it's probably on an M3.

Had one installed on a chevy pickup a couple of years ago. Quite complicated took installer five hours to install, was awesome when done, but doubt one would be avail with smg or stick on any car.

I read somewhere in the manual that you shouldn't warm up the car in a standstill. The manual suggests to drive slowly to warm up the car. What do you guys think about this?

Well yea you need to warm up the transmission as well. The manual states that you shouldn't keep it in stand still position for more than 30 sec.
