Used M5...Is this a good deal.

My partner came across an '06 M5 at a local dealership. Its black with a white interior, has 3,382 miles and they are asking $75,995. Here's the link:

http://www.kellybmw.com/used_vehicle...6f3ed729b8d851

Does this seem reasonable?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It seems a little high to me. I bought a 2006 M5 in March of 2007 that had an MSRP of $96,700 (more options) but it had higher miles (20,000) and it was a private party sale. I paid 65K. The car you are looking at should be no more than 70K IMHO.

I think its a fair deal. There is a big difference between 3k and 20k miles. Also retail v. private. If you like it and you can afford it and you are willing to pay that amout, its a fair deal.

That's a good deal, especially from a dealership.

Good options, and very low mileage. Car looks to be in excellent condition.

Did you ask about the history of the car? Make sure it's not a buy back.

Good luck.

I got my 6200 mile car for 72k just recently.
You should be able to get closer to that number or even better by now.
Cheers!

No deal. My partner checked into Carfax and did some other research and it appears that it was titled to a corporation and was involved in an accident in New Hampshire, where it went off the road and hit a bush or a tree .

Thanks everyone for the input, but it looks like this car has issues.

What did the dealer say when you brought this to their attention?

My partner talked to the dealer about a 335 coupe, which apparently are not readily available since most of the bi-turbo motors are being allocated to the 5 Series. However, he did not discuss the used M with the dealer.
