"Count-down" beeps coming from speakers.

Ok, I just got my brand new M5, and have a true love for this machine. But every day at some point as I'm driving along I hear "beeps" coming from the dash.
The beeps are just like you would hear if you were a ski racer waiting for the signal to GO!. It's the traditional 3 - 2 - 1 - Beeeeeep.
I look all around the dash and LCD monitor and see no messages. It's not my seat belts, It's not the head lights coming on. I just can't figure this out.
My search through the forum has not found anything like this. So I ask the group for any help with this.

thanks

08 - Space Gray - SMG

It's the clock, it does it on the hour.

You know, you may just be right on that one. It makes sense. I'll dive into I-drive and figure out how to turn it off.
If I lived anywhere near Hertfordshire, England I'd wash and wax your car.
Thanks for the help.

It's the clock and mine does it when time is 1:59 or 4:59. Just 1 minute before the hour. I think he's saying turn on your radio for the news....

Cant think of something else...

At the last beep the clock will change to the next hour. In the E39 this happened 15 seconds before the whole new hour and the E60 beeps the last one 1 second before the next hour or maybe even on the first second of the new hour. You can disable this function in the i-drive clock settings menu.
I have it turned on. Tells me to switch to the news on either the radio or TV. And yes, I listen (sometimes) watch TV while driving. No flames please.
